I have never hit this bug before, but for reference, I just hit it on a 10.04 LTS system; I let update-manager update it all the time so it should have all the lucid updates. It was freshly installed to 10.04 from a CD about 2 years ago. x86-64.

I wasn't doing anything weird, I had just picked up the laptop after having used it fine a few minutes prior.

The same behaviour described above in the bug (left clicks going to focused window even if outside of it, right clicking on desktop seems to fix it) occured so I'm pretty sure I'm seeing the same thing.

Being that I've been using this laptop with 10.04 nearly every day for over two years, I'd say that this is a "pretty rare" bug for me, but since the bug report matched exactly (and told me the workaround), I figured I'd add a comment.
