I connected my wireless mouse/keyboard (USB Labtec - some kind of cheap chinise brand) to my Asus EeePC 901 with installed Ubuntu 10.04 (earlier I had this bug at my box on 9.10 and 10.04) and it currently shows analogical behavior. Re-plugging keyboard/mouse receiver always fixes this issue. Seems like keyboard-related - I have never saw this issue at my eeepc.
I think I could donate this wireless keyboard/mouse to developers. Going to test it under Windows before, however.
BTW, this happens more often when I use remote desktop connection in dual-screen configuration.
I can reproduce it on different hardware!
