In my case:
- yes, it's present after upgrading from Intrepid to Jaunty
- i do not know, if it's present in Jaunty clean install - i did not try that, but:
it's not user-profile (user-settings) related (= bug is present for newly created users too)
- i've resolved this bug by downgrading xorg to Intrepid packages,
in particular exactly these:
xserver-xorg xserver-xorg-core xserver-xorg-input-evdev xserver-xorg-input-kbd xserver-xorg-input-mouse
Note: I did not need to downgrade nvidia drivers, or anything else
hardware:
- classical desktop, older HW (athlon XP, 512MB RAM, geforce FX5200) - see lspci, lsusb
- keyboard is connected via PS/2, optical mouse (tried 2 differrent) via USB (see dmesg, lsusb)
all info taken from (now) functional system with downgraded xorg.
