Thanks. The problem seems to occur because you have two video cards (onboard and PCI-E card), and is definately a bug. What you've done is only really a workaround, but I'm glad it's helped you.

This seems to be a duplicate of bug 267241, so I will mark it as such. Please feel free to report any other bugs you find.
