Thanks for the screenshot. It's hard to tell if that's a bug in the application, the toolkit, Xorg or the compositor.
Please continue collecting more screenshots of the problem. Please also try a different desktop environment that's not GNOME. If your xrandr command triggers the same problem without GNOME then we don't need to involve the 'mutter' package in this bug.
