If you look at the EDID, it is totally bogus. It decodes to 1x1 by coincidence:

(II) RADEON(0): EDID (in hex):
(II) RADEON(0): 00ffffffffffff000101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101
(II) RADEON(0): 01010101010101010101010101010101

This should normally have been caught by a checksum, at least nowadays.

Tcl70, can you please try a recent version of Ubuntu?
