This does not happen on another computer which also has a Radeon card.
It also doesn't seem to be related to a specific version of fglrx or xserver. I tryied different ones.

Takeuchi: It's not a duplicate. It's the same bug ^^
Anyway, my boss told me the problem doesn't happen anymore after some updates, but he doesn't know which one.

I'm seeing this since I changed from AMD HD 4850 with open drivers to AMD HD 7770 with fglrx.

Syslog says:
Feb 13 22:46:44 HOSTNAME gnome-session[1705]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal IO
error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.#012

I'm running 12.10, and the non -updates version of fglrx. Seems to trigger when I drag & drop something, but not always.

It happened again immediately after I posted the above. This time a drag & drop cursor (fist with +) was left behind. It stays above everything else, even if I go Ctrl+Alt+F1.

Dittler,

Duh, sorry. I pasted the wrong link. Here's he correct link:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1080514

These bugs are duplicates and should be merged =)

Just like Otus, I have a 7000 series (7970 to be more specific).

I'll add that eoy of the gnome is not the only affected application.

These days I tried to drag an image in the browser and X crashed with the same error. Also, on the other day, I tried to edit an android screen inside eclipse and again, the same crash.

dittler, this is not reproducible in Xubuntu. Could you please provide an example picture file that demonstrates this problem? As well, could you please test for this in Raring via http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ?
