1. The upgrade does not work automatically yet.
That means that the German (qwerty) is not converted to another keyboard. The layout dialog still shows "German". You have to remove that entry and add a new one to get the layout back...

2. I could not find an option for "German (us)" or anything like that within the keyboard layout dialog...
