Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config
The Bulgarian keyboard layout in Ubuntu (the one identified simply as "Bulgaria - Bulgaria") does not match the standard Bulgarian keyboard layout. The layout implemented in Ubuntu seems to be based on the failed* proposal for a standard prBDS 5237:2006. For example, the round brackets () are moved to a different key, and in their place are introduced inverted double quotation marks.
Most importantly, the layout doesn't match the symbols on keyboards sold in Bulgaria:

(* The proposal prBDS 5237:2006 failed to be accepted as a standard:

Google Translate' Bulgarian-to-English translation is passable.) |
