Ubuntu Hardy alpha4, alpha 3 also affected.
I'm a colemak typist, and caps lock in ubuntu hardy with colemak functions as a caps lock /and/ backspace. In colemak, it's a backspace. I went to just set caps lock behavior to 'off'.. the option wasn't there. It's really messing with me.
We need an 'off' option for caps lock, and for the colemak keyboard layout, it needs to be true by default. |
Description revised Aug 22.
The colemak layout includes a mapping for key 66, which is the Wrong Way to add the backspace caps lock key behavior.
This mapping should be removed from the colemak layout and a backspace caps behavior should be added to gnome, KDE, and xfce.
While it would be nice if the colemak layout would default to this caps lock behavior, it's not crucial, as it's easy enough to just change it.
It is possible that backspace would be the first caps lock behavior to require repeat. |

Description revised Aug 22, 2008.
The Colemak design includes a mapping of the key 66, which is the wrong year to add the fifth block of Maya sculas backspace behavior.
This mapping should be removed from the provision of and backward caps colemak a behavior, you must ADIRS year Gnome, KDE and Xfce.
Although would be nice if the colemak design or default to this behavior blocking caps lock is not essential, as it is fairly easy to change it.
It is possible that the reverse will be the first block of caps lock to require repeat the behavior.
