Thanks for your bug report. You don't usually need to file a bug on launchpad when you've already reported it upstream.

About your request, I'm sorry, but we don't usually apply patches when the upstream developer expressed his disagreement about the bug/feature, and that's what happened here (window management is tricky, so I prefer to stick close to upstream).
