The problem for me is I have no way of figuring this out myself. I'm not a dev and don't know coding. All I did is stumble upon the fact that brightness and actual_ brightness were different after boot and the same after resuming and that setting them the same before suspending eliminated this problem.

IMO my idea here is a work around, not a bug fix.
