Thanks for your advise, I remember I had to do something similar on an older ubuntu (I think)... I installed setserial via Synaptic and sadly still no joy, no sign's of life of the Wacom. I have now also tried downgrading the wacom input and wacom tools to the versions I know worked from Jaunty and sadly still no sign's of life...
I have also then tried re-upgrading the wacom packages after installing setserial but again nothing.. I have checked the Xorg log's following all these changes and it doesn't identify a Wacom device at all... Is there anything else that might be worth a try? if it is the new Xorg how hard is that to downgrade and would it be worth testing? Any further advise or suggestions welcome. thanks
