I just tested, and can confirm that rolling back to the natty versions of the packages resolved the issue.

Setting up libwxbase2.6-0 (2.6.3.2.2-5ubuntu2) ...
Setting up libwxgtk2.6-0 (2.6.3.2.2-5ubuntu2) ...
Setting up python-wxgtk2.6 (2.6.3.2.2-5ubuntu2) ...

This is a regression in the 2.6 wxwidget package.
