I've cleared all config files, apt-get remove --purged wireshark and reinstalled and no matter what I do, on this particular machine wireshark will not report any http traffic.

What I expect to happen:

1. start wireshark with a clean configuration.
2. choose the "any" capture filter.
3. Start capturing
4. browse the internet using a browser.
5. stop capturing
6. select the "http" display filter.
7. *See http traffic* in wireshark

This is not what happens, I can see TLS, TCP, SSH traffic on this machine, but not http.

I installed wireshark on a second machine and followed the same steps, and http (OCSP) traffic shows up!! Same version of wireshark, same Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS release.

Network config has been hell since netplan, so that could be the problem, but both these machines are using a wired network configured using network-manager.

I'll run apport-collect on the second (working) machine in moments.
