Yep, thank you. Intrepid's Wine 1.0.1 uses ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: indeed.
But upgrading an existing Wine to 1.1.17 uses ~/.wine/drive_c again.

but about using $HOME

Hence, problem is not solved.
