Bug Description

Binary package hint: wine1.2

This is on Ubuntu Lucid 64 Bit, up to date when running DreamWeaver 8. The workaround is to copy

odbcint.dll
odbc32.dll

from a Windows XP Box to /home/username/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32 and to configure wine with winecfg to use "Native (Windows)" for odbc32.dll.

and I should add that it worked OK in karmic.

Also, same problem with wine1.0 on Lucid.

Stephane,

What were the steps that you used to install/run Enterprise Architect? It won't launch for me on Lucid 64 bit.

Thanks,
Scott

Stephane,

Never mind. I had to uninstall and reinstall EA after setting the native flag for odbc32.

Thank you for reporting this bug.

Does this occur in most recent WINE?

I used to have this same problem and I solved it copying both odbc32.dll and odbcint.dll to drive_c/windows/system32/
and also replacing odbc32.dll for te native version on the wine configuration.
Hope it works for others...

This is because wine1.2 wasn't built with ODBC support due to a missing build dependency. There's a pending SRU that fixes it though, and it's fixed in Maverick (as well as Wine Team PPA).

Only after the installation of kubuntu-desktop on Lucid 32 bit I happened to find the same error message "err:module:attach_process_dlls “odbc32.dll” failed to initialize, aborting" I used to find on Lucid 64 bit. Please mark that DreamWeaver had been working on this machine up to the point where I installed KDE. The work around from post #1 solved the issue.
