Speaking only for myself, I believe the patches are independent of each other. My patches attempt to add a new audio driver winepulse.drv to wine which communicates directly to the pulseaudio server using libpulse. The patches from Rafał Mużyło attempt to make the existing wine audio driver winealsa.drv work better when it is outputting to the alsa-pulse alsa-io-plug which allows most alsa apps to use pulseaudio. I believe both patches can be used at the same time. You can select which method is being used by the registry.
