I have created a version of the wine1.2 package that includes a native PulseAudio driver for wine. This packaged is targeted at the Karmic distribution, so if you are testing out the new release can you try this package and see if it improves the Wine sound on Ubuntu for you.

If you try it, can you report back your experiences here please.
