Well yes, that's true.
However, it currently does not look good in any of the environments.
I'd rather have it look good in one, then in none.
Also please remember that Ubuntu is a GNOMEish distribution primarily.
Besides I think the default XFCE and GNOME color schemes are reasonably similar.
