That is not the default behaviour in the Windows Cisco client, surely?
I use the Windows client all the time and my internet routing is unaffected.

Are we suggesting that he should disconnect from VPN just to use google?
Or that his company should provide web access, and then send it through the tunnel?

Perhaps I misunderstand what has been posted, but I don't think armies of Windows users are hacking their routing tables every time they connect to a VPN.
