Ubuntu has a very strict policy about updating packages in stable
releases. So far nobody has volunteered to start it. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for details on this
process.
TBH, I don't think this bug in analysed enough to start that
procedure. For new upstream versions we have the backport procedure,
which seems more fit to me. backport candidates for testing can be found
in the motumedia PPA.
