I have exactly the same Problem with my ASUS N90Sc Notebook as well, I found no way to do 64-bit virtualisation on Linux on this machine. I bet its a problem with the crap BIOS.
I contacted ASUS support, but they say they have no Linux support on this device.
I made already a BIOS update, because the original version was even more "crappier" (defraud 25% RAM, all OS)
