I'm using Fedora 15 with kde-4.6.3 and stilll can't reproduce this issue.
Lets check the exact library versions.
One of those with a slow gvim, please attach the output of:
ldd /usr/bin/gvim | cut -d ' ' -f 3| xargs rpm -qf| sort | uniq
