So you see that neither "apt-get" nor "apt-get source" nor manually following the commented instructions issued with "apt-get source" gets me the latest version.

To get the latest (relatively bug-free) version, I have to build from the git sources as follows:

git clone https://code.google.com/p/veromix-plasmoid/
cd veromix-plasmoid
debuild binary
cd ..
dpkg -i plasma-widget-veromix_0.18.3-1_all.deb veromix_0.18.3-1_all.deb veromix-common_0.18.3-1_all.deb
