I've downloaded the daily snapshot dated 4/18/2008.
I processed it using the usb-creator application installed on an Ubuntu Jaunty i386 Desktop RC machine with all updates about 2 hours ago. It did not boot for me. This is a Verbatim memory stick 4 GB. I am erasing it with "Partition Editor"/gparted by formatting the partition. USB Creator always says the stick needs reformatting. Next I will try installing from CD this latest day's Image, and will then try writing the memory stick from there.

BusyBox v1.10.2 (ubuntu 1:1.10.2-2ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
with the initramfs prompt
I typed 'exit' and it started processing again as shown by lights on the memory stick.
Then... this error:
run-init: overmounting root: Stale NFS file handle
[ 933.162720] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
