Oh, well, sometimes it goes off into reading "\3\0\0\0\2\0\0\0\0\0\0\0 \0\0\0usb-creator.trace\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0" repeatedly from fd 4 ... but at any rate it's polling something very heavily.
