Impact: Low memory platforms suffer OOM crashes because of memory exhaustion

Patch Description: Read the initial value of buffer_size_kb and restore on exit.

This patch has been reported by Bryan Wu to have fixed an issue on an ARM OEM platform.
This bug cause some real issues on low memory ARM platforms.

Scott Remnant has also concurred that the patch is correct this time.
