After recent updates to Karmic on my laptop (when most of the Sys-V stuff was replaced by upstart), booting my laptop brings me to TTY1 instead of GDM. Only after I manually switch to TTY7 will GDM finish loading and display the graphical login prompt.
I tried a clean reinstall of Karmic and I still have the same problem, so I imagine it's some sort of race condition with the new upstart stuff.
My computer is a Gateway FX laptop.
Ignore anything attached to this report; i had to submit it from my desktop at work which has Jaunty installed. Forcing people to use ubuntu-bug to create a bug report is ridiculous.
Binary package hint: upstart
