I have made a look on my main computer and my laptop and I'm seeing on both systems there "single".
> To test if recovery mode works, again having pressed 'e', remove 'single' and replace it with 'recovery' then CTRL+x or F10 to boot into recovery mode.
On both systems it boots until "Begin: Running /scripts/init-bottom ... done." and then nothing happens anymore.
