I propose this one as a blocker for feisty. The casual user will be completely lost if this happens.
Basically, gdm should not start before dbus/hal, since the gnome session *depends* on dbus/hal. Relying on the user to be slow is not a good idea, or the machine to be fast enough is not a good race resolution.
