It's an Asus Eee Box B202, with intel Atom N270 @ 1.6GHz (mostly running at 800MHz idle). Surely, it's not the fastest supercomputer, but ain't that slow either.

There's something I forgot to mention, don't know if that has anything to do with this: it's a headless machine, i am using it with VNC, but on a gigabit network. (I only mention this, because it seems to affect update manager. I reported another bug, where update manager was terribly slow on this same machine when using VNC, but speedy on the normal display. Maybe the slow refresh rate of a VNC screen affects som timers or screen events that are timed to refreshes or something. This other bug is now gone, seems to be fixed.)
