Bug Description

After upgrading my system (by right-clicking the applet and selecting
'Install all updates') and successfully completing the installation,
the icon of the applet is still present in the notification area with
a tooltip stating that 'There are 23 updates availables'.

When right-clicking on the icon and selecting 'Install all updates',
nothign happens, and when selecting 'Show updates' it say that my
system is up-to-date. So there seems to be a little inconsistency
somewhere.

Have a nice day.

I forgot to mention that durign the last update that I performed (after
which the icon does not want to dissapear), both upgrade-notifier and
upgrade-manager have been updated respectively from version 0.38.3 to
0.38.5 and from version 0.36.3 to 0.36.4.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Things are a bit unstable right now in hoary it seems. This particular problem
seems to be caused by a problem with recent versions of gamin (a tool that
update-notifier uses to get information about changes in the installed
packages). It's reported as #6088.

thanks,
 Michael

I uploaded a new update-notifier that works around the gamin problem. I would
like to hear if that fixes the problem.

thanks,

I close this bug now because the problem seems to be solved with the latest
upload. If you still have problems, feel free to reopen it.

Thanks,
