Removing pogresql extensions (plugins) only CHANGES the nature of the problem, instead of solving it!

If you remove the old postgis version, but it's used in one of the databases, programs like pg_upgradecluster break.

This means, now a complete restore from a database backup is needed, which is much slower and increases downtime by many hours.
