Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

This bug is very similar to Bug #91295, but the error message on the last line differs.
After installing most of the new packages for Feisty Fawn the upgrade tool crashed this way:

Now I'm not able to boot with the new kernel version 2.6.20.12, but with the original 2.6.17.11 neither. I found that in the /boot directory there are initrd.img-2.6.17-11-generic and initrd.img-2.6.17-11-generic.dpkg-bak files both with 0 B length and no initrd.img-2.6.20-12-generic file. I'm currently running with the older version 2.6.17.10 and I hope the official upgrade will install the new kernel version properly...

I installed French language.
In Regional & Language - System Settings, I currently have
Country : Canada
Languages:
   US English
   French

When I start a console, my environment variables are set as follows:
   LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8
   LANGUAGE=fr_CA:fr

Other probably useless info:

In the Adept console, I get the following error constantly:
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 154
  Major opcode: 145
  Minor opcode: 3
  Resource id: 0x0
Failed to open device

Thanks,
- Alain
