With regards to this bug, I am closing it as it seems to be cleared up according to the other users. Also, the error message, "update-manager: Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_get_pointer: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed", does not seem to effect functionality of the program.
