Bug Description

I performed an update using the update manager. The update was recognized as a partial upgrade. I had already performed updates in the past few days that were normal updates and not partial upgrades. I chose to proceed with the partial upgrade and entered my authentication password when requested, after a short time a message appeared stating that there was a system problem. I selected to report the problem and entered my authorization password when prompted. A few minutes later, the error report, reporting that update-manager had crashed was displayed, and i chose to report the update manager crash.

1. I am using Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) Release: 11.10 Beta 1
2. update-manager:
     Installed: 1:0.152.17
     Candidate: 1:0.152.17
     Version table:
    *** 1:0.152.17 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3. I expected a successful completion of the available updates to my system.
4. Instead :Update Manager crashed and the software updates were not performed.
