Yes, I have the same problem when try to upgrade Ubuntu 09.10 Karmic to 10.04 Lucid.
I can reproduced this problems on my both Thinkpad T40 and T60.
Bump. so, can't upgrade to 10.04 now.
Wait for a fix.
