[Availability]
 * Available in universe

[Rationale]
 * This package is required as the basis for making the Unity 8 shell available as an alternate login session in Ubuntu

[Security]
 * No known security issues at this time. This package has been ACKed by the security team in advance.

[Quality assurance]
 * This package is effectively a metapackage with some lightdm configuration files. Functional testing is a documented manual process with simple (you can log in or not) results.

[Dependencies]
 This package is at the root of over 90 additional packages with pending main inclusion requests. Work is underway to clear those MIRs before this MIR can be considered.

[Standards compliance]
 * This package uses autotools. It has no translatable strings other than the (trade mark) "Unity8" presented as a selection at login time, which should not need translation.

[Maintenance]
 * This package is maintained by Canonical and has been available through the archives since 2013 with some media promotion for early adopters.
