Bug Description

When browsing installed applications in the Dash, there is too much clutter, there are too many meaningless entries for average users, entries that I don't expect to be listed. An idea popped up to my mind on how to reduce the clutter a bit without loosing functionality:

Replace all system settings related entries by one system setting icon.

If e.g. a user types 'privacy' in the Dash, instead of displaying the privacy icon (current state), the system setting icon appears with an additional text 'privacy' – see attached image. When the user clicks on the icon, he gets directly to the privacy options in the system settings.

This way we reduce the clutter by 23 icons without reducing functionality!

Thank you for reporting this bug report to make ubuntu better. I think this is a nice idea reducing all the dash applications clutter. However, this is something which requires input from the design team. Hence I am marking this incomplete until further action from the design team.

not sure about this idea, but one sure way to make apps lens easier to navigate is implementing this:

If the UI team aren't going to comment on this issue, can we mark it as triaged? I'm concerned at an important time when Unity is getting attention (the current Unity 7 triage focus and the Unity 8 dev) a label like incomplete makes it look like the reporter has abandoned it.
