@om26er -- I'm not running Unit 3D. Nvidia 304.60 fixed the problem for me, but it takes 2 sec for the launch bar to appear -- too slow for me, so I leave it visible now. Driver 304.63 worked too, after some initial problem which had the GUI login stuck in a loop -- looked like some old .X* files in my home directory caused some issue.
