Unity crashes in the closed nvidia driver if you try to run unity from a tty.

To reproduce:
1) On hardware w/ NVidia graphics + the closed NVidia driver, switch to a tty
2) Run 'unity --advanced-debug' and follow the example here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Unity/FilingBugs#Getting_a_stack_trace
3) Unity crashes

This is reproducible on my system (Macbook Pro 3,1 NVidia GeForce 8600M GT, nvidia-current 280.13-0ubuntu5

See the attached unity.log for a backtrace
