I was playing around with ccsm and looked at preferences/profiles, which hung unity completely and disabled the unity plugin. There is something strange going on there: according to gconf-editor, I had a profile called 'fooo', and ccsm showed 'Default', and then two profiles with random characters in their name. Even after I deleted the 'fooo' profile setting manually from the .gconf directory and restarted unity, ccsm still shows 'Default' and a second profile with random characters, although there is no second profile.
