Only upgraded to 14:04 today.

So far I haven't noticed it. Will test further

In 13.10 the artefacts reappeared more regularly than in 13.04. However, moving the mouse over the launcher shows the correct icons and if the launchbar is set to autohide, the problem solves itselfs.
