Size 14 Application Font makes Unity menus offscreen

Binary package hint: unity

I set my Application Font size to 14 in the Appearance Preferences settings. The black Unity windows, such as appear when you click the Ubuntu circle, or the Applications icon in the side bar, extend off the side of the screen now.

I cannot access the search bar's filter drop down at the top-right, or the window maximize arrow at the bottom-right.

I am using Natty Beta 1 with all updates.

apt-cache reports Unity version 3.8.2-0ubuntu1
