desktop cube does not work anymore on natty if wanting to use unity

with the newest update for natty its where unity depends on desktop wall which provides largedesktop and desktop cube also provides it so that both can not be enabled at the same time

an easy way to fix that to me is to take out the largedesktop out of the desktop cube and make desktop cube depend on desktop wall if largedesktop is really needed by desktop cube

If anything this is a bug in unity depending on wall instead of largedesktop. You're not meant to be able to enable wall and cube at the same time, it causes trouble.

hmm well thing is this didn't happen till updating compiz today.... but still i usually end up using desktop cube so i would like to be able to use it without having to downgrade something

This is related to bug #683211.

This thing is a dep on largedesktop doesn't trigger a dependency activation when you activate unity and you have neither wall no cube, isn't it Travis? how to get one (wall rather) activated by default in this case?

not sure who thats directed to but i did look into that bug and this is related to it by the looks of it and people are in there talking about reverting or making it where unity depends on desktop wall or desktop cube with cube rotate

and i did as Bowmore said:
remove the desktop wall dependency in the file /usr/share/compiz/unityshell.xml, i.e remove the line <plugin>wall</plugin> in the <requirement> clause on line 35 followed by a relogin.

and i can use the desktop cube now
