Why people need 'workarounds' & such is a mystery here.
Just accept that when a nautilus window of external media is minimized - it minimizes to the icon of that external media, not the Files icon
Get over it, it there is some reasonable way to have it minimize to the Files icon it will happen, otherwise no big or even small deal
