Comment 2 for bug 1080102

I have observed this bug to happen around the 25th day of uptime, so I believe it to be the same bug as Bug #806248,
unity::TimeUtil::TimeDelta returns an int value which overflows after 24 days of uptime.

I have found a workaround less horrible than a reboot: the shell command: "sudo service lightdm restart" which allows the auto-login to operate again, so a remote vnc access can be re-established.
