I suspect this might be caused by the fix for bug 865006. Unfortunately that's a very important fix because it's a prerequisite for regionalDamage, which will soon be back-ported to precise...

The real problem is that Unity can't distinguish between damage occurring behind or in front of the active blur. So it just has to assume it's behind and update the active blur which is painfully slow.

Although, the aforementioned blur fix would not cause this until the new damage logic was added. So I think that makes this another regionalDamage regression.

I wonder if we could do another simple fix similar to:

Week 50 - Same issue observed on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise with ppa:unity-team/sru on all 3 (Intel, Nvidia, Radeon).

Issue:- While dragging an item over dash, the item attached to the mouse does not move at the same speed as the mouse pointer and there is a visible delay.

Note: Dragging items on desktop works ok with no delay, delay is seen only when dragging is performed on dash
