I'm sorry, I noticed now that adding the lines:
xrandr | grep -q "VGA1 connected" && \
xrandr --output VGA1 --auto --output LVDS1 --off
at the beginning (and not at the end) of /etc/gdm/Init/Default works perfectly and also solves the bug of gdm that loops back to gdm after login.
